Turn by turn, no wahala
Ajose is a digital platform designed to manage Ajo groups, also known as esusu, susu, or adashi, which are traditional rotating savings and credit associations. The application automates the collection of contributions through bank debit via Mono, a financial data and payment platform. Once the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) settles the funds, the payout is automatically credited to the member whose turn it is in the rotation. Every transaction and round is recorded on a transparent ledger that is visible to all group members. The platform operates through a four-step workflow. First, an organizer sets the contribution rules and invites trusted peers to join the group. Second, the system assigns turns and locks the roster once the group becomes active. Third, automated sweeps collect contributions from members on a scheduled basis. Fourth, Mono automatically disburses the pooled funds directly to the designated turn recipient. Ajose includes features such as cryptographically verified contribution logging, real-time open-banking payment verification, and exportable ledger history. It also provides automated retry sweeps for failed contributions, a trust score system that restricts defaulters from joining or creating new circles, automated fallback notifications with one-click transfer links sent via SMS and WhatsApp, and organizer-defined late fee compensation for affected recipients. Typical use cases include organizing savings circles among friends, family, or colleagues where members contribute a fixed amount on a regular schedule and receive a lump sum payout in turn. The platform is designed to eliminate the need for manual chasing of contributions and to provide transparency through audited records. Ajose does not charge hidden fees or subscriptions, and organizers can select the contribution schedule that best fits their circle. The platform is currently available as a web application, with a mobile app listed as coming soon.
