The Shelf (Ctrl+Shift+Space) lets you search and launch your shortcuts, installed apps, and Store apps from anywhere, and answers quick maths, unit conversions, and currency questions inline. Peek previews images, PDFs, and text files without opening them. Alcove comes with 40 themes, grid and list views, system volume and power controls, a system tray icon, and backup and restore. Your data stays on your PC, with no account, no ads, and no telemetry. It's a free personal project for Windows 10 and 11.
