Your coding sessions become an RPG
BrawlCode is a real-time role-playing game that integrates with the Claude Code development environment. The tool monitors Claude Code activity within an IDE and translates each tool call, file edit, or sub-agent spawn into an action within a shared RPG world. Users are assigned to one of two factions based on their chosen IDE: Lightbringers for Visual Studio Code users, who are associated with speed and agility, and Stormcasters for IntelliJ or JetBrains IDE users, who are associated with methodical refactoring and deep code intelligence. The game is in closed beta, and account creation requires an invitation. The BrawlCode extension operates in a read-only mode, silently observing Claude Code activity. It transmits only metadata, such as tool names, timestamps, and generic file categories (e.g., "script" or "config," but never specific file names like "app.ts" or "secret.env"). The extension does not access or transmit source code, files, prompts, or any other user content. All source code remains on the user's machine. Users continue to code as usual, and their character in the RPG world reacts automatically based on their actions. A leaderboard allows developers to compete within their faction and across the community. Typical use cases include developers who want to add a gamified layer to their everyday coding workflow, turning routine tasks such as writing code, searching files, or spawning sub-agents into a competitive, faction-based experience. The tool is designed to be lightweight and non-intrusive, requiring no changes to existing coding habits. The rivalry between the two factions is presented as playful and friendly, with both editors and their communities celebrated equally. BrawlCode does not use any trademarks; faction names are original creations inspired by the spirit of each editor family. Technical requirements include installing the BrawlCode extension in either Visual Studio Code or a JetBrains IDE (such as IntelliJ IDEA, PHPStorm, or WebStorm). The game is currently in a closed beta phase, with access limited to invited users who can request an invitation by leaving their email on the BrawlCode website. The platform is hosted at brawlcode.com and includes a legal section.
