Trading Journal & Chart Terminal
ChartRecap is a trading journal that integrates with a multi-chart terminal to capture chart setups as they occur. Its primary function is to allow traders to freeze a chart with a single click or keyboard shortcut, preserving the symbol, timeframe, and exact candle for later review. The tool then uses artificial intelligence to analyze the captured chart, providing an automated critique of the entry setup, a narrated recap of the trade before and after execution, detection of chart patterns, and a pre-trade bear case that argues against the position. This analysis is intended to help traders evaluate whether a setup was valid and which setups are consistently profitable. Key features include a live multi-chart terminal that supports several symbols and timeframes simultaneously, with indicators and timezone options. Traders can capture snapshots from ChartRecap’s own terminal or directly from TradingView using the Alt+S shortcut. Each snapshot is automatically linked to its corresponding trade by symbol and time, and the journal displays a linked profit and loss chip. The platform offers trade replay with bar-by-bar playback, entry and exit lines, a live profit and loss tape, and metrics for maximum favorable and adverse excursion. Analytics include win rate, expectancy, R-multiple distribution, equity curve, performance by user-defined tags, and by AI-detected chart patterns. A “discovered edges” feature surfaces profitable setups the trader has not explicitly named. The AI coach (available in the Pro tier) auto-tags trades, delivers weekly reviews based on actual trade data, answers plain-English questions with cross-session memory of the trader’s rules and goals, and offers bulk tagging. A free tier provides a weekly review and a limited number of daily AI questions. A typical workflow involves a trader watching live charts, identifying a potential setup, and capturing it with one click. The snapshot is automatically matched to the executed trade. After the trade closes, the trader reviews the AI’s critique and recap, compares the trade’s outcome to the captured chart, and examines replay data to see how far the trade ran before exit. The journal then aggregates performance statistics by setup type and pattern, helping the trader refine their strategy. The platform supports imports from MetaTrader 4 and 5 (via a small Windows helper that syncs closed trades with exact profit and loss and candlestick data, or via one-upload statement import), CSV files from moomoo and other brokers, and SnapTrade auto-sync (Pro). Alerts can be configured for price conditions such as above, below, or crosses, with free in-app alerts and Pro delivery via Discord, Slack, email, or Telegram around the clock. Per-account rules enforce discipline on no-stop entries, maximum loss per trade or per day, revenge trades, and oversizing, and track a discipline streak.
