Shared Outlook absence calendar
Exchange Group Calendar is a software tool developed by OPUSFLOW BV, a company specializing in Outlook and Exchange solutions since 1999. The application is designed for organizations that use Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, or on-premises Exchange Server. Its primary function is to create centrally managed, filtered team calendar views by pulling data from the existing personal and group calendars that employees already use. This approach eliminates the need for staff to maintain separate, duplicate calendars for team visibility. The tool operates through a three step workflow. First, administrators select the source calendars, which can include individual user calendars, group calendars, or specific Outlook calendar folders. Second, they apply configurable filters based on criteria such as user, group, category, subject, availability status, or custom team rules. Third, the system generates a managed Outlook group calendar that contains only the relevant events, meetings, absences, or appointments. The resulting view allows teams to open a single focused calendar instead of comparing multiple personal schedules. Typical use cases include organizations that require centralized oversight of employee schedules, such as managing absences, customer meetings, or project events, without exposing unnecessary personal details. The application is suited for scenarios where Outlook’s native sharing of individual calendars is insufficient, and a centrally managed overview across multiple calendars is needed. For technical deployment, the standard version uses the Microsoft Graph API for Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online. For customers using a local Exchange Server, a separate EWS edition is available upon request, which includes the correct package and installation guidance. Free installation support is provided via email, phone, or remote session.
