Home Value & Insurance
Vavaro is a home inventory and contents valuation application designed to help users document, organize, and assess the value of their personal belongings. The app enables users to create a room by room record of items such as furniture, electronics, appliances, clothing, and other household goods. Its primary function is to provide users with current replacement and resale values for their possessions while identifying potential gaps in their home insurance coverage. The application uses visual recognition technology to identify items through either a photograph or barcode scan. When a user captures an image or scans a barcode, Vavaro automatically populates the item details including brand, model, material, and category. The app then generates two value estimates for each item: the replacement cost for a new equivalent and the current resale value. These values are based on current market data for similar items in the user's country and are updated over time to reflect changes in value. Users can organize their inventory by property, room, and individual containers such as wardrobes, toolboxes, or safes. The app supports multiple properties, making it suitable for managing a primary residence, rental units, vacation homes, or inherited properties. Each item record can store photos, receipts, manuals, and warranty cards. Users can search by name, filter by room, and sort by value. The app also allows users to enter their insurance coverage limit and provides per room and per category breakdowns to show where coverage may be insufficient. High value items can be flagged for separate insurance scheduling. Vavaro stores data encrypted on the user's device and offers optional cloud backup. The application does not track users or sell their data. For insurance purposes, the app can generate a complete export archive containing a printed inventory, a spreadsheet, all photos and documents grouped by room and item, formatted to align with standard household insurance policy requirements. This archive can be emailed directly to an insurer. The app is accessible through the web at vavaro.app.
