AutoMEP is a web based application that uses artificial intelligence agents to edit AutoCAD and Revit MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) drawings. Users upload a DWG or RVT file, describe the desired change in natural language, and the tool returns a modified native file ready for review. The platform allows MEP engineers and designers to make alterations to drawings without opening CAD software themselves, with the AI handling the drafting of symbols, routing, and annotation for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. The tool supports a range of editing capabilities. It can add ductwork, air vents, fans, and label runs with size and airflow for mechanical systems. For electrical work, it places outlets, switches, light fixtures, and connects them back to a panelboard. Plumbing edits include sinks, toilets, drains, water lines, and water heaters with notes. In Revit models, AutoMEP can also tag existing elements, place devices, add dampers and valves to existing ducts and pipes, and insert families that are not yet in the model. Outputs remain in their original file format, with DWG files returned as DWG and RVT files as Revit models; a PDF version is also available. The typical workflow involves uploading a floor plan, whole building, or single sheet, followed by answering a few questions from the AutoMEP Agent about the project name and the desired changes. The user describes the edit in their own words, as they would to a human drafter. After processing, the edited drawing can be viewed in a browser and compared to the original before downloading. New work is placed on standard MEP layer names or on the user’s own office CAD standard when specified. For Pro and Team subscriptions, the tool builds on previous results so that repeat changes do not require re-explaining the project. Technical requirements are minimal, as there is nothing to install; everything operates through the browser. The application is designed for use with houses, apartments, offices, shops, restaurants, schools, and clinics. A separate review pass compares the final drawing with the user’s request, and the edited file can be opened in the CAD software the user’s team already uses.
