Gamified ESL progress
Gamified ESL progress
The Kingdom of English is an online ESL and EFL practice platform designed for teachers and their students. It provides a structured environment for assigning grammar, reading, listening, and writing exercises, along with tools for tracking student progress and managing classroom activities. The platform was created by David Satler, an English teacher with over ten years of classroom experience in Austria, who developed the application himself using self-taught programming skills and AI integration. The first version launched in January 2023 and has been continuously updated based on daily feedback from real learners. The platform includes 60 ESL/EFL grammar practice topics, 60 listening comprehension exercises, 60 reading comprehension exercises, and writing practice that provides automatic AI feedback and grading. It also offers a gamified experience with leaderboards, class competitions, and rewards, as well as additional ESL/EFL games suitable for classroom activities or homework. Teachers can assign online tasks and monitor student performance through a progress tracking system. Each teacher account can accommodate up to 60 students. Typical use cases involve a teacher assigning practice sets to a class, students completing exercises on their own time, and the teacher reviewing results and analytics. The reading comprehension exercises include AI answer evaluation. The platform is intended to supplement traditional textbook learning by providing engaging, interactive practice. A free trial is available, and the pricing is described as competitive. The platform is a solo project, not a product of a large corporation, and reflects a teacher’s direct classroom experience.
