Local land records. The right local
Paimaish is a land unit converter designed for the revenue land measurement systems of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. It converts between regional units such as Kanal, Marla, Bigha, Biswa, Biswansi, and Killa, and standard measures including Acre, Hectare, and Square Feet. The conversion logic is based on actual land measurement records from these states rather than a generic unit table, and it accounts for the different Karam lengths used across local areas and settlement systems. The tool offers five conversion modes: Single Unit, Kanal and Marla, Legacy Units, Rate per Unit, and a Calculator for combining or splitting records. Users can enter a value in one unit and see conversions across all supported units simultaneously. The app pins frequently used units, stores conversion history, and displays step-by-step calculations for any result. It operates entirely on-device, so no internet connection is required in the field. The interface supports English, Hindi, and Punjabi, with language switching available from settings or on first launch. Paimaish is intended for landowners, farmers, land agents, and revenue staff who work with land records in these regions. Typical use involves entering a record in the format it appears on official documents, such as Kanal plus Marla, and viewing the equivalent values in other units. The web version is free to use in a browser without an account. The iOS app is available free on the App Store, while the Android version is in closed testing on Google Play, pending Google's requirement that testers keep the app installed for 14 continuous days.
