CastGhost is a do-it-yourself podcast pitching tool designed for individuals with expertise to share, such as founders, experts, and storytellers. Its primary function is to help users find podcast shows that match their profile and send personalized pitches, all without requiring a PR agency or a costly subscription platform. The tool operates entirely through a web browser, with no installation or API key management needed. Users set up a profile once by uploading their LinkedIn information or data export, pointing CastGhost to their website, and answering a few short questions. The system then drafts a tagline, bios, and topics based on the user’s own material, and only the content the user approves is used for pitching. The core feature of CastGhost is its live search capability. Instead of relying on a fixed database of shows, it queries podcast directories such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube in real time each time a search is performed. This allows it to reach new and niche shows that a static list might miss. The tool also checks each show’s recent episodes, not just its description, to confirm that the show actually features guests and covers the user’s subject matter. Shows without recent guests can still receive a one-off story pitch. Duplicate listings across platforms are merged to avoid pitching the same host twice. Pitches are ghostwritten from the user’s talking points and published work, matched to the specific show, and are drafted in the user’s own voice. The user reviews, edits, and sends every pitch from their own Gmail account, so replies land directly in their inbox and the relationship remains theirs. Typical use cases involve an expert or founder who wants to gain visibility through podcast guesting but lacks the time or budget for a white-glove agency. The workflow begins with profile setup, followed by searching for shows by niche. CastGhost returns a list of matching shows, each with evidence of recent guest episodes. The user selects a show, and the tool drafts a pitch based on the user’s approved material. The user can edit the pitch before sending it from their Gmail. If a show goes quiet, follow-up emails are drafted automatically, and they stop once the host replies. Replies to pitches update their status within the tool. Technically, CastGhost requests only the Gmail send permission from Google; it cannot read, search, or download the user’s inbox. If users want replies tracked, they can set up a Gmail filter that forwards only replies to their pitches to CastGhost, and they can delete the filter to stop tracking. The tool does not use user data to train AI, nor does it sell or use the data for advertising. Profile setup and searching for shows are free.
