Practice questions from your notes
GeniusPal is a study tool that converts user uploaded notes, PDFs, and PowerPoint slides into practice questions for exam preparation. The platform generates questions designed to mimic the style and structure of an examiner, providing explanations for each answer. It is free to start and does not require a credit card for initial use. The application offers three primary practice modes from a single uploaded source: quizzes, flashcards, and active recall exercises. The quiz mode provides a score estimate, while flashcards focus on drilling material the user frequently misses. The active recall mode requires users to write out answers in an exam style. Each answer includes a rationale explaining why it is correct, and where applicable, the tool quotes the specific passage from the user’s original material that supports the answer. Distractors in multiple choice questions are drawn from the same lecture or document to make guessing less effective. A typical workflow involves uploading a lecture deck, document, or past paper. For past papers, the tool analyzes the exam’s question style, recurring topics, and wording without copying content from the paper into the generated questions. Users can then switch between the three practice modes to review the same material. The platform offers two free study sets, with larger sets available in paid tiers (Tryout, Student, and Genius). All study sets are private by default. The tool is accessed via a web application at geniuspal.app.
