Piano sheet music at their level
Playable Notes is a web based tool designed for piano teachers to adapt sheet music to the skill level of individual students. The primary function is to take an existing piece of piano music, either by photographing it with a device camera, uploading a PDF, or importing a screenshot, and then automatically transcribing it into a digital score. Within approximately one to two minutes, the tool reads the image and produces a playable, editable notation. The application offers several key capabilities. Users can type a specific request for how the music should be modified, such as “make the left hand easier,” “remove octaves,” or “transpose to C major.” The tool then rearranges the piece accordingly, adjusting difficulty, hand span requirements, or key signature. Once the adapted score is generated, users can hear it played back with notes that light up in real time. Any incorrect or unwanted notes can be clicked to edit, and a clean PDF version can be printed for the student. Typical use cases include simplifying a piece for a beginner who cannot yet read four sharps, adjusting the left hand part to be less complex while keeping the right hand unchanged, or removing octave stretches for students with smaller hands. The workflow involves snapping or uploading the original music, typing a natural language instruction, reviewing and correcting the output, and then printing the final arrangement. The tool also supports browsing a library of 321 classic piano pieces that can be used as starting material. Technical requirements are minimal: users need a device with a camera or the ability to upload image or PDF files. The tool processes the input and returns a digital score that can be heard, edited, and exported. No additional software installation is required, as the service operates through a web browser.
