Censor Photos and Videos
Simply Censor is a mobile application developed by Kronware that focuses exclusively on censoring faces, license plates, addresses, and backgrounds in both photos and videos. The app is designed to perform this single task without the complexity of a full video editor. Users open a file, cover the elements that should not be visible, and export the result. There is no timeline to scrub, no layer stack, no keyframes, and no project files to manage. The application does not require an account, does not upload content to the cloud, and does not add watermarks. The original file remains untouched; a new copy is always created. Key features include automatic face detection that runs immediately when a file is opened. A default censoring effect is applied, allowing the user to confirm and export quickly if the result is acceptable. Users can blur or pixelate detected faces, choose to cover full faces or only eyes, and use built-in stickers or their own image as a cover. Individual faces can be turned on or off before export. The app also offers background censoring, where users select the foreground subjects to keep visible and blur or pixelate the rest. Manual censoring is available for any missed areas. All controls work identically for photos and videos. The typical workflow involves opening a photo or video using Android’s system media picker, which means the app does not need broad access to the user’s photo library. Detection and censoring are performed entirely on the device, with no network connection required. The app is suited for users who need a fast, straightforward way to hide sensitive content before posting, without learning an editing tool or trimming, cropping, or applying filters. For more complex video editing tasks that require object tracking, trimming, and overlays, Kronware offers a separate application called BlurCut. Simply Censor is available on Google Play.
