Systune is a macOS utility application in development that combines disk cleanup, security auditing, and system settings management into a single tool. It is designed for macOS 14 and later, supporting both Apple silicon and Intel processors. The application allows users to analyze disk usage, identify removable files across 103 categories with assigned risk levels and plain descriptions, and review a detailed plan before any changes are executed. It also performs 92 security and privacy checks, covering areas such as FileVault, SIP, the firewall, sharing services, background items, and SSH keys, with many findings offering a one click fix. Additionally, Systune provides access to 300 macOS preferences grouped by areas like Finder, Dock, keyboard, trackpad, power, security, and Safari, with the ability to apply preset profiles and restore previous values through saved snapshots. The application emphasizes transparency and user control. Every removal is listed with specific file paths, counts, and sizes before being committed, and users can choose which categories to address. A feature called the test strip displays the exact changes a commit will make before it executes. User files are sent to the Trash when removed, while regenerable caches may be deleted in place. Settings changes preserve prior values in snapshots that can be restored at any time. Systune also includes a protected path policy that refuses to access the user’s keychain, iCloud Drive, Photos, Mail, or Messages data regardless of what a cleanup category requests. Typical use cases involve inspecting disk space usage through four interactive views (list, squarified treemap, concentric rings, and file type breakdown), performing a security audit to identify vulnerabilities, and tuning macOS settings to match a desired configuration. The workflow follows a three step process: scan and inspect findings, select what to change, then confirm the commit. Systune is not yet released; interested users can join a waitlist, with the first 100 registrants receiving a free lifetime license. The planned price is USD 39 for a license covering three household Macs, including two years of updates. The application is signed and notarized at release, contains no subscription fees, does not include app analytics, and uses only local Mac tools.
