Trending is a daily market analysis tool developed by Alejandro Arce. It generates buy, hold, or sell calls for a specific set of asset classes, including technology stocks, semiconductor companies, artificial intelligence firms, space ventures, and commodities. The service operates by presenting two distinct analytical perspectives on each asset: a rule-based system and an AI model (Claude). The workflow begins each morning by taking the last closing price of each tracked asset, including stocks, Bitcoin, gold, and major indexes. The system also pulls the top news stories for each asset. The rule-based player makes calls based on whether the current price is above its historical average and higher than it was a year ago. Claude reads the same numerical data and news summaries to make its own independent call. Both calls and their underlying reasoning are presented side by side. Each analytical player manages a hypothetical portfolio of $100,000 in play money, executing trades based on its calls. A third player serves as a control by buying every asset and never selling. The performance of every buy and sell call is graded one month later against the S&P 500, allowing for a direct comparison of the different strategies. The daily calls and analysis are delivered to subscribers via email every weekday morning.
