Crypto cash register, from a link
pwa.cash is a non-custodial point of sale application designed for accepting cryptocurrency payments in person or online. It functions as a progressive web app that installs directly from a browser link, eliminating the need for an app store, card reader, or merchant account. The platform supports Bitcoin Lightning, Monero, USDT on Tron and Ethereum, and USDC on Ethereum. Payments are sent directly from the customer's wallet to the merchant's own wallets, with pwa.cash using only watch-only credentials such as a Lightning address, a Monero view key, or a USDT address. This setup allows the service to see that a payment has arrived but never to spend the funds. Users sign in with a passkey and do not need to provide an email or password. The application offers a range of features for managing sales. Merchants can set up a shop by naming it and choosing a pricing currency, then add wallet addresses for each supported coin. Payments are accepted through a keypad or item tiles on a counter interface, or via a shareable pay link or QR code that customers open on their own phones to scan and pay. Each sale generates a payment request that remains open for 15 minutes, with late payments still detected for up to 72 hours and recorded as paid late. For customers holding a different coin, an optional swap service via kyc.rip allows them to pay in another cryptocurrency while the shop receives the full amount in Monero, with swaps starting at $10. Additional features include the ability to pair cashier devices using a one-time QR code, wallet change delays of 24 hours after a first charge, and notifications for wallet changes, late payments, and low balance sent through ntfy or browser notifications. Typical use cases include in-person retail checkout, online sales via a payment link on social media or a website, and integration into existing platforms through an invoice API and signed webhooks. Merchants can also create a catalog, add a banner, and include notes such as a return policy. The application does not hold funds and charges a fee of 0.5 percent per paid sale (minimum $0.01), taken from a prepaid balance rather than from sales proceeds. New shops start with $2 of credit, and the service credit is not withdrawable and is capped at $500. A referral program rewards 20 percent of fees from referred shops as credit for 12 months, with the new shop receiving $3 after its first sale. Technical requirements are minimal: users need a modern browser and a passkey, and the app runs on phones, tablets, and computers as an installed web app.
