@ tabs into AI chat context
@ tabs into AI chat context
AI Context Bridge is a browser extension that shares readable content from selected open browser tabs with supported AI chats. It is designed to remove repeated copying, pasting, and window switching by letting users type @ in an AI chat input, choose one or more open tabs from a dropdown above the chat composer, and send the selected tab content together with their question. Selected tabs appear as tagged chips, and pressing Enter submits the prompt and structured tab context together. The extension is free to start, requires no account, and can be installed from the Chrome Web Store or as a ZIP file. The tool extracts body text and structure from selected pages while filtering out navigation headers, cookie banners, sidebar ads, and footer disclaimers. It can also extract readable content from internal dashboards, authenticated documentation, and private workspace reports when the user is logged in. Content is extracted locally and passed directly to the chosen AI platform, with no automated harvesting or background cloud storage. For long technical articles and documentation, Smart Context filters out irrelevant sections and retains material relevant to the prompt. Core features are free, while Smart Context Pro adds advanced compression. Pro does not automatically search for or select open tabs, and API usage is billed separately. Typical uses include referencing multiple articles, research papers, or technical reports in one query; troubleshooting bugs across live error logs, GitHub pull requests, and official API documentation; comparing pricing models, feature tiers, and customer feedback across products; and bringing internal Jira issues, analytics dashboards, and Notion documents into a prompt. The workflow remains manual and user directed: type @, select the desired tabs, and press Enter. Different questions may require different context from the same page.
