BitcoinerReviews is an independent website dedicated to reviewing Bitcoin hardware wallets. The platform focuses exclusively on Bitcoin-related hardware and explicitly does not cover altcoins. The site accepts no sponsored content and describes its reviews as subject to change, with the author acknowledging that the content is not presented as infallible. The primary function of the site is to help users evaluate and select Bitcoin hardware wallets through detailed assessments and direct comparisons. The main features of the site include a structured wallet ranking system, head-to-head wallet comparison tools, a database of hardware wallet security incidents with sources for each entry, and a section called Wallet Battle Arena where two wallets are evaluated against each other. The platform also offers a quiz that generates a personalized Bitcoin tool stack recommendation. Each wallet review examines firmware openness, hardware design, build quality, and the overall security model. Bitcoin-only wallets receive preferential treatment in the ratings, while altcoin support is noted negatively. Hardware wallets reviewed on the site include SeedSigner, Blockstream Jade Plus, and Foundation Passport Prime, among others. The reviews emphasize technical characteristics such as seed generation from dice or camera entropy, air-gapped operation via QR codes, fully open-source firmware and hardware, and the use of virtual secure elements. The site also maintains an index of all reviewed wallets and organizes them by criteria such as beginner-friendliness, air-gapped operation, open-source development, and Bitcoin-only support. The inclusion of a security incident archive provides users with a factual resource for understanding risks related to breaches, firmware flaws, and phishing campaigns.
