AI Website Receptionist
Hostly is a web based AI receptionist tool designed to automate customer interactions on a business website. It responds to visitor questions about products, services, hours, and prices using information that the business configures and approves. When reservation functionality is enabled, Hostly can display available time slots and facilitate bookings. The system also includes an internal assistant that allows team members to query company information and procedural guidelines, making organizational knowledge more accessible to employees. The tool operates in three modes: AI on, where the system handles all conversations autonomously; hybrid, where the AI responds but a human can take over a thread at any time; and off, where no automated responses are given. If the conversation exceeds the plan’s limits, the visitor is informed that a person will review their message. Hostly also flags messages marked as complaints, notifying the business so a human can address them, though this does not replace official complaint forms. Payment processing for reservations is handled through Stripe, allowing businesses to charge a deposit or the full amount during the booking process. Typical use cases include small to medium businesses that want to provide round the clock customer support on their website without hiring additional staff. The workflow begins with the business configuring its information (products, services, prices, hours) in the Hostly panel, then adding a provided code snippet to its website. Once active, the AI engages with visitors, and the business can review all conversations from the panel, respond personally, or adjust the AI’s behavior. The internal assistant is accessed separately by team members for internal queries. Hostly is offered as a subscription service starting at 29.90 euros per month, including VAT, with a seven day free trial. The trial can be canceled before the seventh day at no cost. The tool is web based and requires no additional hardware, only integration via a code snippet on the business’s website.
