Scan cards, get values!
Scan cards, get values!
Valdar is a mobile application for iPhone and Android that uses artificial intelligence to identify sports cards from a photograph and provide estimated market values based on eBay sold listings. The app is designed to help collectors determine the approximate worth of a card in seconds, without requiring manual research. It also offers an AI-based estimate of a card’s condition grade using PSA-style criteria, including centering, corners, edges, and surface. Supported sports include NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and soccer, and the app covers major card sets such as Prizm, Chrome, Bowman, and Donruss. The core workflow involves pointing the device’s camera at a raw or slabbed card. The AI identifies the player, set, year, and parallel within roughly one second. Valdar then displays low, median, and high prices drawn from actual eBay sold transactions, excluding speculative asking prices. The condition estimate provides a projected grade for grading services including PSA, BGS, CGC, and SGC, which can help collectors decide whether paying for professional grading is financially worthwhile. Users can organize cards into a portfolio, track collection value over time, and export reports for insurance purposes. The app also sends notifications about new releases and price changes. Beyond scanning, Valdar includes a suite of calculators accessible from a web browser. These tools cover card value, collection value, investment return, price inflation, graded card premium, centering, grading cost, an expected value calculator for deciding whether grading is worth it, population report analysis, crossover grading comparisons, and fee calculators for eBay and shipping. The application revalues each card in the portfolio as market data updates, providing a current total value for the entire collection.
