Wolf Sniff is a browser extension that identifies the technologies used to build a website. With one click, it detects the CMS, page builder, WordPress theme and plugins, hosting provider, and analytics tools. Each finding includes evidence from the page itself, such as a file, header, or tag that revealed its presence. Weak or uncertain hints are not presented as confirmed platforms. In addition to technology detection, the extension provides a WordPress fix difficulty score from 0 to 100 with reasons, a list of outdated plugins and known CVE vulnerabilities, an estimated monthly cost for paid tools on the page, and a summary of on-page SEO elements. It also generates a short client email based on the scan, which can be edited in the popup and sent from the user's own inbox. A Markdown report and CSV export are included. Typical use cases include evaluating a site before quoting a fix or maintenance job, preparing client outreach, and assessing security or SEO issues. The extension runs entirely in the browser; nothing about the pages checked is sent to the developer, and it only reads the tab on which it is clicked. It works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, other Chromium browsers, and Firefox. A free version offers basic detection, while a one-time payment of €49 provides a lifetime license that works on up to three browsers and includes all future updates. Installation is available via direct ZIP download and the load unpacked method, which avoids app store tracking and review delays.
