Find cloud waste. Cut your bill.
YouNeeK CloudRipper is a free, open-source command line interface tool licensed under the MIT license. It is written in Go and designed to scan cloud accounts across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. Its primary function is to identify cloud waste, determine actual spending, find forgotten paid subscriptions, and conduct safe chaos experiments. The tool requires only read-only access to cloud accounts and does not need permission to change or delete resources. The tool provides several specific capabilities. The cloud waste scanner identifies idle, orphaned, and oversized resources. The real spend feature pulls actual billing numbers from cloud cost APIs rather than estimates. The find bills command hunts for forgotten paid services by scanning receipts and bank CSV exports. The safe chaos tests allow users to run controlled failure experiments with guardrails and a dry run option. CloudRipper consolidates these functions into a single binary, replacing the need for multiple cloud provider consoles and scripts. CloudRipper is distributed as a single static binary for Linux, macOS, and Windows, available through GitHub Releases. It can also be installed using a single Go install command. The workflow involves downloading the binary, connecting it to a cloud account using an existing read-only role or key, and scanning. The tool generates a report of waste, real spend, and forgotten bills. Users decide which resources to act on, as changes only occur when the apply flag is passed and confirmed. No data leaves the user's machine, and no agents or SaaS signup is required for the command line interface. The command line interface is free to use. A hosted dashboard is available as a paid option for users who prefer not to run the tool manually. This dashboard offers scheduled scans, history, email summaries, and support for multiple cloud accounts. The full source code is available for review and forking under the MIT license.
